Wool is the fill we recommend to anyone who wakes up damp. The fibre takes up to a third of its weight in moisture without feeling wet, and lets it go again when the room cools, so the temperature under the duvet stays steadier than it does under down or polyester. This is the summer weight, 250 grams of carded wool per square metre, quilted in channels.
Two things to know. Wool does not loft, so the duvet looks flatter than a down one and always will. And it is heavier for the warmth: this summer duvet weighs about what a down all-season does.
