A fine wool throw woven in a twill and lightly brushed on one face so it is soft enough to put against bare skin. It is the throw we keep on our own sofas. At 420 g/m² it is warm without being heavy, and it folds small enough to live on the arm of a chair.

Brushed wool sheds and pills slightly for the first few weeks as the loose surface fibres work free; a cashmere comb takes them off and it then settles. Moths like it, so store it clean in a bag over summer.
