Most of what ages a mattress is what comes through the sheet: sweat, skin, dust. A protector catches it and goes in the wash instead. This one is a thin cotton-wadded quilt with a deep knitted skirt that fits mattresses from 18 to 35 cm, and it changes the feel of the bed less than any other protector we have tried.
It is not waterproof. A membrane makes a protector hotter to sleep on and noisier, so we sell it separately for the people who need it. If you need protection against spills or children, buy the membrane protector instead of this one.
