Four layers of wool batting tufted through a sateen shell, about five centimetres deep when it arrives and about three and a half after six months of nightly use. We put that number on the page because every wool topper does it and almost nobody says so. After the first settling it holds steady for years.
It makes a hard mattress feel medium and a medium one feel soft, and because it is wool it also makes the bed drier and more even in temperature. It does not make a sagging mattress flat again; nothing does. Flip it and turn it with the seasons so it wears evenly.
